ECO4

The Energy Company Obligation (ECO), is a government energy efficiency scheme administered by Ofgem. It provides energy efficiency measures in the homes of people struggling with their energy bills and is open to homeowners and tenants.

You can contact any of the obligated energy suppliers for more information even if they are not your energy provider. You can find more information about the scheme and who to contact to find out if you are eligible on the Ofgem website  Energy Company Obligation (ECO) – Homeowners and tenants | Ofgem

ECO4 lasts 4 years and runs from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2026.

Boiler Upgrade Grant

This government grant could help to cover part of the cost of replacing your fossil fuel (usually oil, gas or LPG) heating system with a heat pump. There is a handy eligibility checker on the scheme’s website that will help you to decide if this funding would work for you.

Great British Insulation Scheme

The Great British Insulation Scheme is an energy efficiency scheme administered by Ofgem, which was formally known as ECO+. It aims to help improve energy efficiency in homes across Great Britain and will be available to the homes of people struggling with their energy bills. It will also be available to homes with an EPC of D-G, and within the Council Tax bands A-D in England and A-E in Scotland.

This scheme ‘compliments’ ECO4 but will mainly deliver single insulation measures rather than a ‘whole house’ approach. It will place an obligation on medium and large energy companies to deliver measures which will result in reduced energy usage.
